Ingredients
Custom Fry Seasoning
1 tablespoon paprika (sweet or smoked, per your preference)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon fine salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust the amount for more or less heat)
For the Fries
- ½ pound frozen fast-food style French fries, such as Ore Ida®
For the Dipping Cheese Sauce
4 slices American cheese
1 tablespoon milk
2 dashes of hot sauce, such as Tapatio®
Step-by-Step Instructions
Start by preheating your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 minutes. While the air fryer comes up to temperature, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt together in a small bowl until fully combined, then set the seasoning blend aside.
Spread your frozen fries evenly in the air fryer basket, then cook for 5 minutes. Give the basket a hard shake to toss the fries, then cook for another 5 minutes until they turn golden and crispy. Transfer all cooked fries to a large mixing bowl, sprinkle the prepared seasoning over them to taste, and toss until every fry is evenly coated. Set the fries aside while you make the sauce.
For the quick cheese sauce, tear the American cheese slices into small chunks and add them to a microwave-safe bowl. Pour in the milk and hot sauce, then microwave on the Melt (low power) setting just until the cheese is fully melted. Stir the sauce until smooth, then serve immediately alongside your seasoned fries for dipping.
