Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 (1-ounce) packet au jus gravy mix (recommended brand: McCormick®)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 teaspoons onion powder

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 cups square-shaped corn cereal (such as Corn Chex®)

  • 1 (5-ounce) package garlic-and-butter flavored croutons (such as New York Bakery®)

  • 2 cups mini saltine crackers

  • 1 cup garlic-flavored rye chips (such as Gardetto’s®)

  • 1 cup crispy onions

  • 1 (2.85-ounce) package beef jerky, cut into bite-sized pieces (recommended brand: Jack Link’s®)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, au jus gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, rosemary, and black pepper until the seasoning is fully dispersed and combined. Add all dry snack base ingredients: corn cereal, croutons, mini saltines, garlic rye chips, and crispy onions. Toss thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated in the savory butter seasoning. Transfer the mixture to a large rimmed baking sheet, and spread it out into a single, even layer.

  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring once halfway through baking to ensure even toasting. The snack mix is done when it is lightly crisped and the base is mostly dry to the touch. Once removed from the oven, sprinkle the cut beef jerky evenly over the top. Let the entire batch cool completely (about 15 minutes) before serving or storing in an airtight container.
